It all started with a very personal search for a more sustainable life. But soon after Ina and Manuel, the initiators of the "Casita de Barro" project, began in a small village near the city of Puebla, which has a population of one million, it gradually became much more. Today, the villagers are supported through participatory educational measures to preserve their natural resources, revive indigenous knowledge and try out alternative sustainable management models.
From September 2022 to August 2023, Sandy Jotzer was in Mexico as part of her voluntary service organized by the DRK regional association of the Baden Red Cross. Fiona Sippel and Nele Onstein have been there since September 2023 and have replaced Sandy. We are pleased to be able to support them both in their voluntary service. And of course we are also looking forward to further reports from this great project.
